Decorative stitches
In today’s craft, I want to introduce you the various options to see the stitches in embroidery circles designer – Orna Willis (Orna Willis). This artist is known for his unconventional approach to creativity and embroidery. Its design is dominated by oriental motifs and shades, as well as rare species of “crosses”, French knots and decorative stitches. Some of them we will try to repeat:

A

The size of the finished design 12.7 x 13.3 cm, so we took a bit of a black canvas 18 County, measuring 25 x25 cm.

For beauty in the embroidery thread, we have used the transition shades along the length of skeins such as a series of Color Variations Floss from DMC or Anchor, as well as the usual colored floss. The scheme and all the diagrams with the stitch is here .

1) Find the center of the canvas and turn away from it to the right about 5.7 cm, and up from this point of 7 cm. This is the starting point of our embroidery. See Diagram 1:

B

2) Start with the top right corner. For the “stars”, we used the shade №99 (DMC-Color Variations). 2 embroider yarn. Embroider number of stitches centered at the “X” in the sequence, as shown in Diagram 2.

C

3) Next, move to the left – turn to the yellow leaf. They embroider shade №90 (DMC-Color Variations), but initially it was a shade №1217 (Anchor). The thread in 2 additions. See the sequence of stitches per Diagram 3. It is important that the stitches on one side parallel to each other (except for the top).

D

4) Thus, a number of our training design we have finished, now go lower. Again starting from the right edge. Embroider a decorative two-tone “eye”. First strand lilac shade in one addition, such №3746 (DMC), embroider diagonal rays centered at the “X” following the sequence in the Diagram 4:

E

5) Next, contrasting thread in one addition, for example 3855 (DMC), start from point “a” to reel under the stitches step 4) curls (see Diagram 5). Make 4 – 5 curls, make sure that they do not overlap, and each next round, I followed the previous one. Finish at the point “b”.

F

6) The final step – a French knot at the center “eye.” Use contrasting shade of any color thread 2 addition.

7) Moving to the left, “the pad with a floor” and a French knot. Use the thread in 2 additions, such as 3855 (DMC) and follow the direction to Diagram 6. Then thread, such as 3809 (DMC), in addition take 2 in the center of each pad in French knots.

H

8) To the left a group of double-crosses embroider thread in 2 additions, such as a touch №93 (DMC – Color Variations). See Diagram 7.

I

9) Next vpevo is a combination of stitches, leaves, obedinennh squared. We used the shade №92 (DMC – Color Variations). Follow the direction of the stitch on the Diagram 8, leaf for leaf.

K

10) completes the second row of stitches series, similar to the “pads”, paragraph 7). Try Us for example, shade №69 (DMC – Color Variations), the thread in 2 additions. See Diagram 9.

L

11) Thus, the third row, we start again on the right. Embroider a combination of twisted stitches and double crosses. Start with twisted stitches, thread 2 adding shade, for example №523 (DMC). On the needle should be approximately 12 turns of thread. See DIagram 10.

M N

12) In the center of each cell embroider double cross shade №3855 (DMC).

13) to move again to the left on the canvas again embroider group leaves, as in step 3), but have them horizontally. Use Diagram 3, the sequence of stitches.

14) In the lower right corner of our design repeat “pads with a floor” and French knots as in step 7) using a shade of thread, for example №93 (DMC – Color Variations). French knots, perform thread №90 (DMC-Color Variations). See Diagram 6.

15) To the left of the “pads” embroider 6 rows of half-cross Rhodes, 6 in each row. To do this, thread color №3746 (DMC), 2 embroider themselves adding crosses, and then crosses between the “French knots” maroon thread in one addition. See Diagram 11

O

16) In the lower left corner again we will embroider a group of “stars” on the principle as in step 2). Just a touch of 3855 (DMC) thread in one addition. See Diagram 2 /

17) In the upper right corner of the “stars” that we have just embroidered, we make a few diagonal leaves, using one strand addition bluish-pink hue. Follow the steps to Diagram 12, starting from the bottom left leaf and up.

P

18) We conclude our design gobelin stitch seam on the edge. Embroider floss in one shade addition, we embroidered the last leaves.
