How to sew a simple and convenient holder with a zipper

simple and convenient holder with a zipper

You will need:

1. Cloth for the outer part of the Holder.

2. Cloth for the lining.

3. Fabric for the bake.

4. The fastener on the button.

5. Lightning.

6. A doublet.

7. Bulk non-woven fabric.

We take a piece of the main fabric, the size of 20 * 20 cm. We seal it first with a doublerine, then with a bulk non-woven fabric.

Sew a buckle from both sides of the Holder. It is necessary to check that the holder is conveniently closed. Not very freely, but not tight (in it, after all, there will still be money, coins, documents, etc.). I still sewed decorative elements from the skin.

In the holder on one side, there will be a pocket with a zip, on the other side of pockets for cards.

To make a small pocket for small stuff, we need a zipper, a piece of cloth measuring 13 * 20 cm, 21 * 20 cm and two pieces of 6 * 3 cm. This can be either the main fabric or the fabric you selected for the lining. I used thick flax, and it did not compact it. If you use cotton, it is better to tighten it with a non-woven fabric, so that the pockets keep the shape.

Large pieces of fabric are folded in half to make a piece of 6.5 * 20 cm and 10.5 * 20 cm.

And the small pieces that will close the ends of the lightning, also store in half to get 3 * 3 cm.

All the pieces are ironed. That’s what will happen. The fabric lies bent to the zipper.

First, sew small pieces on both sides of the zipper at such a distance from each other, so that from the tip to the tip was 20 cm.

We impose the fabric (from the side where the fold is) to the zipper, with an overlap of 5 mm and we add it.

The same with the second piece.

An extra piece of lightning cut off. But not exactly on the edge, but a little shorter, so that later there would be no problems with pasting the bake along with the edge of the purse. The tip of the lightning will create an excess thickness.

Now go to the fabric for the inside of the wallet. The size of the fabric is 20 * 52.5 cm.

We bend and press it in the manner shown in the diagram.

Dashed line – we bend the fabric to ourselves.

Solid line – we bend the fabric from ourselves.

Here’s what you should end up with:

We spend in the middle, forming sections for cards. In the upper part of the seam, we make a bracing (we spread it back and forth).

Fold the detail of the pocket in half and press it, as shown in the photo. So we have a closed pocket.

We begin to collect the Holder. Below the main part with a clasp. A piece of lining with pockets for cards and on top of a pocket for small things. We spend in a circle.

Now go to the blind, which will create a border around the perimeter of the wallet and hide all the strings and layers.

On the perimeter of the purse is 80 cm + allowance of 10 cm. I like Baku double, so the final size of the base is 90 * 5 cm

Cut from one edge a piece at an angle of 45 degrees. Chamfer at a distance of 5 mm from the edge

We fold the bake in half.

We start the line, not from the very edge, but step back 1-2 cm, so that you can then hide the tip.

Now a few words about how to form corners when sewing a bake. We reach the corner and stop at a distance of 5 mm from the edge. We make the bracing. We fold the bake at an angle of 45 degrees.

And then again at an angle of 45 degrees.

And this time we start the seam from the very edge. We make the basting at the beginning of the seam.

So we form all four corners. The tip of the lock will go to the pocket left at the beginning.

We bend the beak and sew it on the inside with a hidden seam.
