Filigree commonly refers to delicate kind of jewelry metalwork made with tiny beads or twisted threads soldered together or to the surface of an object of the same metal and arranged in artistic motifs. We can make some variations and use yarn to create filigree artwork. I am excited feature this nice DIY project by a Russian artist to make a beautiful filigree butterfly with yarn. It’s not so difficult to make. Basically you need to first draw the butterfly template on a piece of paper and then glue the threads on it to form the shape of a butterfly. You can use different color combinations of yarn to create your design. This yarn filigree butterfly looks so unique and pretty that it is great for all sorts of decoration. Enjoy!
Here are the things you may need:
- Glue;
- Tweezers;
- Yarn;
- Butterfly template.

First, the antennae, and then tied up the circle.
That body is ready.
Then we have the contour of a butterfly.
Making small oval chik and put in the tips of the wings, and then lay out pieces of yarn along the bottom edge of the wings.
Then lay out the pattern of the lower wings. Along the edges of the droplets and the bottom two whorls.
And in the center filled with a drop of bleached twine.

Go to the top. First fill the groove arcs, and at the center of a small circle.
Then the contour pass a string, closing the recess. Then a short, leaving the area, which then close a small circle.

On a large circle on top I put a little dark and along the edge of the contour bleached twine.
