Well, tuesok ready. No one doubts gossip no- he sure – from the newspapers!
Looked-looked … kutsevaty some turned …
I decided to weave something more interesting.
Sorry for the photo quality. At the vigil is better not happen, and in the afternoon there is time to weave …
Here is a vase intertwined.
In ancient times, human life was unthinkable without a woven products from the moment of birth to death. Mother rocking newborn baby in the cradle, a retinue of grass, human bed was nothing more than a mat – woven mat, and into another world accompanied in his grave, woven wicker.
The walls and roof houses built of twigs and reeds for the fortress daubed with clay, hardening in the sun. Doors and floors were the same wicker and not inferior to other materials on sustainability.
Dishes and utensils were made of wicker, woven in the form of baskets and all kinds of vessels. All simple belongings stored in them seeds and crops, poultry and fish, provisions and clothing. In a wicker basket was lowered into the ground and of the miners brought to the surface of the coal mines. The wicker baskets stacked in the tombs of all the things that were “useful” the deceased in the afterlife. Occupying an important place in the life of many people, they have the features of bright national identity. The popularity of wicker products was so great that the motives of the individual elements and weaving machinery imitated in porcelain, use an image or separate baskets woven bands in the compositions of architectural decoration. Cross-weave, used for the manufacture of products of the vine, in principle, provided the basis for the emergence of weaving machinery.
Particularly widespread in the second half of the XIX and early XX centuries baskets, wicker furniture, strollers for dolls and other products produced in the French workshops. The raw materials used French masters thin peeled vine covered her different dyes, gold, silver.
Today in fashion again includes all original, hand-made, endowed with artistic style and soul of the creator. So and wickerwork, with its rich history, demonstrated its way from ancient days to modern times. However, despite the fact that at different ages, these products carry a different functionality, their main symbols has always remained unchanged. The marvelous intertwining twigs seen to favor the nature of the crop and its willingness to share with the people the abundance of his gifts.
I will not here specifically to paint an infinite number of options for weaving and take your time. Dwell on the wickerwork is the most common material. The most common vine – willow.
Willow – a fast-growing shrub with flexible stems. In nature, it is spread over a hundred species, but are suitable for weaving a few. The most valuable are named as follows: belotal, Krasnotal, goat willow and chernotal, or otherwise – broom (yes, the same “bush willow across the river!”). For weaving want their annual or biennial shoots. In the wild thickets of willow is not difficult to find: it grows on the shores of lakes and rivers. However, to find a long leafless twigs suitable for weaving baskets and furniture – not an easy task. Short, gnarled shoots, let processes can go only to a rough weave fences, dams and weirs. In the old source of raw material is a natural willow thickets. Now, it is grown on plantations, using specially bred varieties, with some flexibility, thickness and color of the rod. And, moreover, should be no escape of branches and leaves. This cultivars – apart from the competition. In addition, they are much more fruitful wild.
Having lost its appeal as a material for agricultural tools, gear and construction, the vine does not become less used. So many beautiful and varied product created from her master weavers! The craft of weaving is special, it is out of time and territory, it just always there …
A wicker basket and now remained “container number one” for gardeners and mushroom pickers. This mushroom will never go on the “hunt” with a plastic bag in which a fragile mushroom production gradually turn into dust. Potato baskets, durable, roomy, light, summer resident will be pleased with the potato harvest. A large basket of crude, the so-called Cheverny, you will need to carry construction waste, grass and weed a plot of weeds. But it’s not just the ease and strength braided “hardware”, but also in its aesthetics. After all, the city, the country, we are going for the sake of communion with nature and the “naturalness” of baskets of willow twigs (instead of the ubiquitous plastic buckets) easily adjusts weary residents in the desired fashion, bringing peace and tranquility.
