This is a story about how to make a bright and unusual, I would say, even emotional, a candle in the form of Easter eggs. Unlike classical carved candles, based on the workpiece-stars, where you need months to fill his hand, so that the result was admired, with that described in the master class candle handle any, even a child. Be sure to turn out beautifully. All patterns are cut with just one knife.
So, down to business.
We need:

Paraffin (I have food bedded P2).

Molds or ready-made candle in the shape of an egg (my height 9 cm, 6 cm in diameter).

WICK (I cotton braid 30 strands. If your candle is less than or greater than mine, and the wick, respectively, need thinner or thicker).

From two to infinity metal containers for colored wax.

The dyes to color the wax to get (better special, like me, but you can replace them with wax crayons).

Knives for cutting (to them I will discuss later).

Bucket with water.

Hook, large enough to make it comfortable to hold in hand.

The beam, which can be hung from this hook.

Soft tissue paper.

Candle paint (optional).
I will not talk in detail about the casting in the form of candles, on the topic of master classes is already there. Only repeat some important points, and I will give myself a few tips:
– ALWAYS melting paraffin in a water bath, it is a safety issue;
– During the cooling wax shrinks, so it should be 2-3 times fill up in shape. If the shape of a large, take a couple of punctures in paraffin needle to prevent the formation of voids;
– Pre-impregnated wick is not required. The end of the wick leave long, not less than 10 cm, to the candle-billet was convenient to hang.;
– Silicone shaped candle is extracted easily. If you have a plastic or metal form, to extract candles may require additional manipulation: put the form in the refrigerator for 10 minutes (not in the freezer!) Or lower for a few seconds in hot water;
– Work surfaces in the kitchen (you do after all there?) Cover the film or newspapers. Unpainted paraffin erased easily, but why extra care.

You will need to build a small candle shop. The most affordable way – several metal containers with colored paraffin (tins, cans, small kastryulek) put into one big, and put on a plate, in a water bath. Minimum need two container – with white and colored paraffin. Since the carved candle is my all, I have a professional installation with 12 colors, is such.
Boast, let us return to the case where there is no such facility. Several containers with small colored paraffin in one large water bath. We put on a plate. Bring to a boil it is not necessary! Enough to warm the wax up to 60-80 degrees temperature. Then, turn off the stove, carefully stir the wax because dye tends to sag. You can start.
I’ll make a candle in the yellow-orange-red range. The colors – my favorite gradient. This will smooth the transition from white to the purple color through yellow, orange and red colors.
Candle-blank, hanging on a hook, drop the first color – white. Drop quickly, but smoothly, we try not to splash all around. Give paraffin drain, then lowered into the water, too quickly, as fast as you can. The purpose of lowering the water – to fix a layer of wax, but do not let it cool down completely, leave warm. Droplets of water carefully wipe cloth. Again omitted in paraffin, again in the water. So 20-40 times!
Why such a spread? Because the higher the temperature of the wax, the thinner the layer it on a candle, will require more layers. Each master himself finds himself most comfortable working temperature and the number of layers. In this master class – the golden mean, 70 degrees, 30 layers.
So, I started with the white color, then alternately dipped in white and yellow, so that the transition is smooth. Then several layers of yellow, then alternating yellow and orange, then orange, then orange-red … Well, you understand. The last color in the chain – purple.
On this inner layers to an end, now you need to make a beautiful candle surface. For a start we will block the color purple and white. This will require 3-7 white layers, depending on the concentration of white pigment. In the process of dipping from time to time free up the wick from the layers of wax to candle looked neat.
When the white suits me, get down to the most beloved – gradient at the surface of the candle. Candle omit all the same color (except purple), but not entirely. First, a yellow, slightly less then orange, and very little red. That such a surface is obtained.
All! The candle is ready for cutting. The most interesting, exciting, magical stage of the work. And … very transience. We have 10 minutes, and then the wax has cooled completely and cut it will be impossible. So we do everything quickly, but do not panic.
Dangle a candle at the bar, I prefer to just cut it when the candle hanging at eye level. First, clean the wick.
Then cut formed during dipping stalactite to the candle is level and stable standing. I use ordinary office knife. You can use any sharp knife with a thin blade. A rare shot – carved candle, bottom view.
Now cut patterns. Oh, turn on the imagination!
I’ll cut flower on stem with leaf, and with a few blades of grass. Opportunities correct picture will not be, so I recommend to do first layout-sketch. We use non-acute needle.
Getting a leaf, cut a strip of wax, unfold and stack it so that, together with its groove, it formed the outline of a leaf.
 
Next, cut out a few blades of grass, in the same way as cut stem. And just doing framing of the composition. The main figure is ready!
Do not forget that we have a candle not only beautiful, but (primarily) Easter. Therefore, the back of the candle will engrave letters XB. “B” is cut simply and “X” with a little trick – at first I cut the strip (one of the letters of the lines “X”), and spins it into a spiral, but do not fit directly into their groove, and leave, and I cut a second, cross the line and now I stack spiral into place. Elegant bukovki ready!
Further, while in the street cold season (and that in April, mess), I hung the still warm the candle to cool the balcony. In summer, cools in a bucket of water.
When the candle has cooled, dip it in a special candle paint. Nail trim gives shine and adds a little strength. This step can be skipped easily.
