How to make textile beads

I want to share one of the options for creating textile beads made of fabric. I think this MC will be interesting not only to masters who master techniques in costume jewelry but also to everyone who is interested in textiles. In the end, I got a bracelet and a few more necklaces. To make such an ornament is within the power of everyone, you need only a little time, patience and utmost accuracy.

So, we need tools such as a needle for beads, scissors with sharp ends, round pliers, an awl:

From the materials we stock up with a patchwork cloth (high-quality cotton), a piece of holo fiber or a sintepon , the thread in this case I took # 30 for the detachment of jeans, I have Czech beads No. 10 Preciosa, from the accessories – hats for beads or hugs (I have 12mm in diameter), pins, double rings, carbine :

I picked up 5 different shades of fabric, mostly monochrome. Cut from the fabric circles about 5cm in diameter. Assemble on the circumference, retreating 3-4 mm from the edge of the cut.

This idea is borrowed from the well-known patchwork technique “yo-yo.” We also stuff the internals of the assembled circle with a holo fiber.

We tighten the thread neatly.

We pass the needle through the assembly for strength in the second circle.

Now we start embroidery with beads. To do this, draw the needle approximately to the “equator” of our bead.

textile beads

We begin sewing beads 3-5 mm apart from each other in a chaotic manner.

That’s how you need to leave an empty place for the hugger from the assembly side. When finished sewing beads, we do a knot in the center of the assembly and hide the thread in the bead. Gently trim the tip.

Using the loop of a pin make a double.

Strictly along the line of symmetry of the bead, pierce it with an awl. Shiloh must pass through the assembly hole.

We dress a pin in a hug.

On the opposite side of the roundworms twist the same “pig tail”.

Now proceed to assemble the bracelet. I will not dwell on this classic technique.

I will only say that the length of the chain should be with a margin, we put the beads on double rings to give them an additional degree of freedom.

The last bead is equipped with a small carabiner for fastening.

The other end of the chain is left free for easy adjustment of the length on the wrists.

Here is the bracelet:

Beads are very light, weightless, tender to touch and very nice rustle in their hands …

And this is a few details for the necklace:
